What are the responsibilities and job description for the QUALITY CONTROL position at C&B Piping, LLC?
JOB SUMMARY
Oversee all assigned quality control activities related to the implementation and adherence to C & B standards on all the fabricated products produced at C & B, as well as ensure customer quality requirements for fabricated, and welded parts. Conduct inspection activities to determine conformity of process and products quality requirements at defined intervals
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Check material according to current inspection standards.
Perform material surface inspection and checks.
Perform all required dimensional checks on fabricated, and welded material.
Perform process audits for process deviations and material defects
Create reference master part samples for current press run.
Document inspection information into QMS
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment according 5 S method
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school education and diploma (or GED equivalent).
Previous employment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficient in using and reading measurement tools (e.g. tape measure and calipers)
Exceptional process experience and knowledge
Basics computer skills
Knowledge of methods for product quality inspection and evaluation
Understanding of Material and inspection, evaluation, and testing
Possesses basic level of Rework skills
Experience with Material replenishment system and Quality Reporting (e.g., Global Shop and QMS).
Strong communication skills
Excellent knowledge of process description for nonconforming parts and containment process.
Knowledge of reading Work Orders and Quality reports
The individual must be flexible relative to the work schedule including possible mandatory overtime.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 70 pounds
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
The ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted
