C&B Machinery specializes in designing and building innovative grinding solutions, including production double & single disc, horizontal & vertical spindle, and special application grinders. With a passionate team of engineers, machine builders, and technicians, C&B delivers tailored solutions for each client’s grinding needs. In addition to new designs, the company offers customized retrofits, retools, sub-assembly repairs, and prototype and production grinding services. Located in New Hudson, MI, C&B provides comprehensive support, including spare parts, tooling, and preventative maintenance plans for in-house grinding machines.
Job Functions:
- Assemble machinery using mechanical design drawings and photos as instructed.
- Disassemble machinery, clean it, inspect it, and identify any worn or broken parts.
- Proficient in customary mechanical techniques required for the assembly of precision machinery
- Assemble machinery subassembly involving precision bearings.
- Assemble machine tooling.
- Align machines, tooling, and start-up machines. Troubleshoot and assist with internal and customer machine run-offs.
- Maintain accurate work records, including, but not limited to, red-lined mechanical drawings.
- Work cooperatively and jointly with other members of C&B Machinery, our suppliers, and customers.
- Travel to customer facilities for machine installations, start-up, customer training, and service as needed (25%)
Qualifications:
- Vertical Turning Lathe assembly and/or service experience (EMAG, Famar, Okuma, etc) is a plus.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read mechanical detail and assembly drawings
- Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators).
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems.
- Ability to work well with a team.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing, both in group and one-on-one settings.
- Machine Tool Builder candidates must have a personal toolbox containing standard hand tools and small power tools necessary to perform the duties of an assembler. C&B Machinery shall furnish unique and job-specific tools as required to complete the work.
- The Machine Tool Builder must be able to work additional hours when necessary, within reason, to complete projects that meet customer requirements.
