Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer III / Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Java, SQL, Linux, and enterprise application development. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting large-scale applications, troubleshooting production issues, and working in Agile development environments.

Required Skills

• 15 years of hands-on Java Development experience
• 10 years of SQL Database experience
• 8 years of experience supporting and developing large enterprise applications
• 5 years of Linux experience
• Strong experience with application development, maintenance, and production support
• Experience writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, and triggers
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with system performance tuning and application optimization
• Experience with backup and recovery processes
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with JIRA and the Atlassian tool suite
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Experience with State of Texas applications or the Texas Department of Public Safety
• Experience migrating applications from legacy mainframe systems to Java/SQL

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Debug and troubleshoot production issues.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, database packages, and triggers.
• Analyze application logs and system performance.
• Support application enhancements and system improvements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC.
• Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and implementation plans.
• Ensure application reliability, security, and business continuity.
