What You Should Know About The Role:
The Retail Operations Officer is responsible for providing the leadership, training, and management necessary to ensure that proper operational controls and people systems are in place to enable value-added and exceptional service to internal and external customers. The position is responsible for the overall hands-on operational aspects of the Retail Department ensuring overall performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability. The Retail Operations Officer works collaboratively with Senior Management to proactively identify operational inefficiencies and will develop policies, and procedures that align with the Bank’s overall goals and strategic objectives.

Compensation Overview:
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $74,300 - $93,000 which reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for candidates who meet the standard qualifications for the role. Actual base pay will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, experience, and location.

What You Should Know About The Role:

The position is responsible for the overall hands-on operational aspects of the Retail Department ensuring overall performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability. The Retail Operations Officer works collaboratively with Senior Management to proactively identify operational inefficiencies and will develop policies, and procedures that align with the Bank’s overall goals and strategic objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage three locations: Poplar Grove, Davis Junction and Byron
- Develop, motivate, and train staff, including planning and delegating work assignments and projects
- Evaluate performance, administer quarterly touch points and deliver performance evaluations
- Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable to performance and behaviors aligned with our culture
- Provide a work environment that stimulates positive energy, creativity, and teamwork
- Ensure the Retail department’s strategic objectives are met
- Oversee retail operations activities including customer service and deposit functions
- Formulate and implement operational policies and procedures to maximize performance
- Assist with the implementation and the management of all retail banking products
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of all types of personal and business accounts including IRA’s, CD’s, Trusts, HSA, Safe Deposit Box, CDARS, and other specialty accounts, etc.
- Place check holds, stop payments, and authorize check approvals, etc., when needed
- Trouble shoot and resolve retail deposit operations issues and questions that may arise
- Assist with system upgrades, including new products and services, etc., within retail operations team
- Ability to guide and assist customers with online banking, mobile banking, and other services offered
- Work with the Marketing department on promotions and special events
- Cultivate and maintain customer relationships
- Represent the bank, promote products and services in the community to increase customer base
- Promote a collaborative and positive team environment throughout the entire bank
- Follow all bank policy and federal bank regulations and see that they are properly carried out by staff
- Oversee Vault access / Balancing / Currency Ordering
- Act as the administrator of core systems
- Attend, participate, and plan (when applicable) for committees and meetings
- Contribute to the Bank’s initiative to reduce paper usage by organizing, implementing, and completing projects that prioritize digital solutions.
Required Skills & Attributes:
- Advanced experience, knowledge and training in branch operation activities, terminology and products and services
- Management skills for communication, delegation, and prioritization
- Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies
- Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation
- Exceptional customer service
- Effective and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Skilled to prioritize work, while handling multiple tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to function as a team player
- Great time-management skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience preferred
- Ability to sit for up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and move 40 pounds
