As a Business Development Professional for our Sports & Parks Division, you’ll be a key player in driving new business and expanding existing client relationships across your territory. You’ll focus on generating sales for high-impact sports & parks construction projects, including everything from athletic fields, courts, and tracks to complex sports & park facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the sports & parks construction sector, including complexes, athletic fields, and community recreation facilities.
- Negotiation & Closing: Lead sales negotiations, generate proposals, and close deals to meet and exceed annual sales targets.
- Relationship Building: Develop long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including athletic directors, facility managers, architects, school districts, municipalities, and public organizations.
- Project Management: Collaborate with our project managers, designers, and estimators to understand client needs and propose tailored solutions.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to position Byrne & Jones as the go-to for all sports and parks facilities.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Sales Experience: A proven track record of success in sales, ideally within construction, athletics, or facility-related industries.
- Industry Knowledge: 3 years of experience managing complex sales cycles and closing high-value projects.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Drive & Discipline: A self-motivated, competitive mindset with the discipline to manage time, goals, and priorities independently.
- Organization & Efficiency: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Office and CRM platforms to track and manage pipeline activity.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness and ability to travel within your assigned region (up to 60-70%), including overnight travel.
- Licensing: A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
