The Opportunity
Byers Industrial Services is seeking a Bilingual Human Resources Associate who is fully fluent in English and Spanish to join our growing Human Resources team in Franklinville, NJ.
This is a hands-on HR position supporting employees throughout the new-hire, onboarding, training, benefits, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes.
You will work directly with our Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and Safety teams while serving as an important point of contact for both our English and Spanish-speaking workforce.
We are looking for someone who is organized, approachable, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Full professional fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
Key Responsibilities
New Hire Onboarding & Orientation
- Coordinate and assist with the onboarding of new employees from hire through mobilization
- Guide English- and Spanish-speaking employees through required onboarding documentation
- Assist employees with completing electronic onboarding and HRIS requirements
- Review new-hire documentation for accuracy and completion
- Conduct or assist with new-hire orientation
- Explain company policies, benefits, training requirements, and onboarding expectations
- Follow up with new hires regarding incomplete documentation or outstanding requirements
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition to ensure a smooth transition from candidate to employee
- Translate and explain HR instructions and requirements between English and Spanish when necessary
HR Administration & Employee Records
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and personnel documentation
- Enter and update employee information within HRIS and internal tracking systems
- Ensure employee information remains accurate across HR systems
- Prepare HR spreadsheets, employee reports, tracking logs, and other documentation
- Maintain organized electronic and physical personnel records
- Assist with employment verification and other routine HR documentation
- Support HR reporting and employee data collection
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee and company information
Employee Support
- Serve as an approachable point of contact for both English and Spanish-speaking employees
- Assist employees with general questions regarding company policies, benefits, onboarding, training, and HR processes
- Assist with employee benefits enrollment and related documentation
- Direct complex employee relations, benefits, leave, payroll, or policy matters to appropriate HR leadership
- Help bridge communication between Spanish-speaking employees, supervisors, and management
- Assist HR leadership with employee engagement and workforce communication initiatives
- Provide professional and timely follow-up to employee questions and concerns
Training & Compliance
- Assign required safety and compliance training to new hires and current employees
- Monitor completion of required employee training
- Track employee certifications, expiration dates, and renewal requirements
- Coordinate OSHA, company-specific, and customer/site-specific training
- Follow up with employees and supervisors regarding incomplete or expiring requirements
- Schedule refresher training as certifications approach expiration
- Maintain accurate training and compliance records
- Work closely with the Safety department to ensure employees meet project requirements prior to mobilization
- Assist HR leadership with maintaining compliance with applicable company policies and employment requirements
HR Team Support
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources department
- Coordinate with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Safety, Payroll, project leadership, and field supervision
- Assist with employee documentation, reporting, and special HR projects
- Help identify missing information or outstanding employee requirements and follow through until resolved
- Support additional HR initiatives as the company and workforce continue to grow
QualificationsRequired
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish – speaking, reading, and professional communication
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong follow-through and ability to keep outstanding items moving
- Comfortable communicating with employees at all levels of an organization
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information professionally
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Comfortable learning and working within multiple HR and employee management systems
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work full-time and in office in Franklinville, NJ
Preferred
- 1–3 years of Human Resources, HR Administration, Employee Onboarding, or related administrative experience
- Experience working with an HRIS, ATS, payroll, or employee management system
- Experience with employee onboarding and new-hire orientation
- Experience maintaining employee records and compliance documentation
- Exposure to benefits administration or employee enrollment
- Basic understanding of employment practices and HR compliance
- Experience supporting a construction, industrial, manufacturing, skilled trades, or field-based workforce is a plus
