They are a global leader in IT infrastructure and data center solutions, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its team in Simi Valley, CA. We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong background in metal fabrication manufacturing, including sheet metal fabrication, welding, bending/forming, stamping, punching, and assembly operations. This role will focus on driving operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and process optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations
- Improve manufacturing processes using Value Stream Mapping and Six Sigma methodologies
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions
- Support fabrication operations including sheet metal, welding, stamping, punching, bending, finishing, and assembly
- Partner with Product Design teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Lead equipment, facility, and capital improvement projects
- Analyze production metrics, capacities, labor requirements, and manufacturing costs
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
- Support new product introductions and ECO/ECN activities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and ergonomic requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience in a metal fabrication environment
Hands-on knowledge of:
- Sheet Metal Fabrication
- Welding Processes
- Press Brake / Bending Operations
- Metal Stamping & Punching
- Manufacturing Tooling & Fixtures
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement expertise
- Six Sigma experience (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Experience with ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25%-50%
