CMM Inspector – Aerospace Manufacturing
We're hiring a CMM Inspector to join a fast-paced aerospace machine shop supporting precision-machined aluminum and titanium components.
This opportunity is open to TWO types of candidates:
A.
• Strong manual inspection fundamentals
• Solid GD&T and blueprint reading skills
• Experience with first article, in-process, and final inspections
• CMM programming experience NOT required
• Company will train on CMM Manager software
B.
• Experienced CMM Programmer
• PC-DMIS, Calypso, CMM Manager, or similar software
• Strong GD&T skills
• Aerospace inspection experience preferred
• Able to independently perform first article inspections and create AS9102 documentation
What You'll Do:
✔ First article, in-process, and final inspections
✔ Generate bubble drawings and AS9102 documentation
✔ Inspect precision-machined aerospace components
✔ Support a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
✔ Work closely with machinists and production teams
Manufacturing Environment:
• Aerospace precision machining
• Aluminum & titanium components
• Typical part size: under 8" cube
• Lot sizes: 3–12 pieces
• Tight tolerances: ±0.002" typical, ±0.0001" on critical features
Preferred Background:
• Aerospace or defense manufacturing
• Small machine shop experience
• AS9100 / AS9102 familiarity
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Compensation:
Salary Quarterly bonus 5-10% of annual wage for hourly roles
⚠️ Important: We're looking for either a strong manual inspector ready to learn CMM programming (A) OR an experienced CMM programmer (B). Candidates with only limited CMM exposure who do not fit either track will not be considered.
