Role Description The Landscape Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Manasquan, NJ. This position is responsible for developing landscape and hardscape concepts, preparing detailed design plans, and selecting appropriate plant materials tailored to each project. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with clients and project managers, creating site layouts and planting plans, producing drawings and specifications, and coordinating with installation crews to ensure designs are carried out accurately and efficiently. The Landscape Designer will also visit job sites to assess conditions, refine design solutions, and help maintain quality standards for all implemented projects.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Landscape Design and Landscaping, with experience translating client needs into functional outdoor environments.
- Proficiency in Landscape Architecture principles, including site planning, grading, and integration of built and natural elements.
- Hands-on knowledge of Hardscape design and installation, such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and outdoor living features.
- Ability to create detailed Planting Plans, including plant selection suited to local climate, soil conditions, and maintenance requirements.
- Experience using design and drafting software (e.g., CAD, landscape design platforms) and reading site plans and construction documents.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, field crews, and management.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant education in landscape design, landscape architecture, horticulture, or a related field; professional certifications are a plus.
- Knowledge of local building codes, landscaping standards, and best practices for sustainable and low-maintenance design.
