Schedule: Monday – Friday | Day Shift (5x8 Hours)
Job Overview
One of our client is seeking an experienced Onboarding Specialist / Credentialing Specialist to support non-clinical human resources operations. This role is responsible for managing provider onboarding and credentialing activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of applications throughout the credentialing lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage documentation for initial and reappointment credentialing applications across multiple facilities
- Perform administrative duties and credentialing verifications in accordance with established policies, state regulations, and Joint Commission standards
- Initiate and process reappointment packets for providers based on departmental assignments
- Complete accurate data entry into the provider credentialing database
- Verify and validate required information for assigned credentialing files
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date automated credentialing records
- Prepare completed credentialing files for leadership and Chiefs’ review and signature
- Assemble and submit credentialing files for review at facility-specific Credentials Committee meetings
- Track provider applications and approvals through various credentialing and governing committees
- Conduct primary source verifications, including:
- Current and prior hospital affiliations
- Professional references
- Professional licenses
- National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB)
- Office of the Inspector General (OIG)
- Health Claims Arbitration Office (HCSAO)
- Board certification websites
- Malpractice insurance carriers
- Maintain a comprehensive credentialing database and prepare reports from physician and provider files as required
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in onboarding, credentialing, or human resources
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism
- Proficiency in administrative systems and data entry
- Knowledge of credentialing standards and regulatory compliance preferred
Salary : $23 - $24
