We are an established, successful and expanding company with many opportunities in the wine, beer, and spirits industry. We are looking for experienced managers to direct our daily operations. If you have previous retail management experience in any industry, your skills will be beneficial. We are especially interested in service industry professionals with specific department knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer. As an Assistant Manager, you support the store team members to maintain our best-in-class service, selection, and value to our customers. You will oversee cashiers, stock associates, and sales associates. The Assistant Manager is also directly involved in promoting products and services to our customers and may serve in a team member capacity to support the merchandiser/stock associates and cashiers. Manager responsibilities include daily maintenance of the respective department inventories, stocking lists, directing the stock crew, running in-store tastings, working with the Department Directors to bring in new items, as well as assisting with the daily operations of the store. Our team includes WSET L3 Advanced, DipWSET and Cicerone Certified managers.
Responsibilities include
- Training new cashiers on policy and operations
- Focus on customer experience, brand, and loyalty awareness by building relationships throughout the community
- Support an environment that encourages creative thinking and risk taking
- Participate in product knowledge training and implement through team coaching
- Manage all front end activities such as: monitoring cash accountability and reconciling drawers; and assisting with supply orders
- Monitoring and fulfilling on-line orders
- assist with checking in daily deliveries from vendors
- Cross checking the invoice against the order, and communicating any discrepancies
- Maintain the backstock and make sure inventory makes it way onto the shelves
- Supervising the stock teams
Department Manager responsibilities include
- Experience in customer service and helping customers
- Product knowledge to help customers with their selections
- Ability to assist opening and closing the store
- Focus on customer experience, brand, and loyalty awareness by building relationships throughout the community
- Support an environment that encourages creative thinking and risk taking
- Participate in product knowledge training and implement through team coaching
What we're looking for
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Value collaboration and acting as a team player
- Experience in a retail environment, industry knowledge is a plus
- Experience working with POS systems (not a requirement, we can train you!)
Physical Requirements (with or without accommodations)
- Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day
- Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly
