Benefits

This position qualifies for CalSTRS retirement. The employee contribution rate for CalSTRS is either 10.25% or 10.205% of monthly earnings depending on the membership date.

Credential Information This position requires a valid, unexpired California Education Specialist Credential in one of the following areas: • Extensive Support Needs • Moderate/Severe Disabilities with an Education Specialist Bridge – Extensive Support Needs The following credentials may be considered with the understanding that the selected candidate must work with Butte County Office of Education Credentials to obtain the required authorization or permit: • Moderate/Severe Disabilities Credential will be considered; however, will need to obtain the Education Specialist Bridge – Extensive Support Needs authorization within 1 year of employment* • Mild to Moderate Support Needs Credential • Mild/Moderate Disabilities Credential Intern Credentials and Emergency Permits may be considered. Applicants who do not currently hold the required California Education Specialist Credential should upload documentation demonstrating eligibility to obtain the authorization, including one or more of the following: • An Intern Eligibility Letter from a CTC-approved Intern Program • Out of state Special Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction to students with Extensive Support Needs preferred • Valid California General Education Teaching Credential • Transcripts showing ALL degrees earned and ALL coursework completed, including Community College Coursework (unofficial Transcripts are acceptable) A Valid, unexpired English Learner authorization (e.g. embedded EL Authorization, CLAD, BCLAD or SDAIE) is required. Emergency EL authorization may be considered.
