What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Foreman position at Butman Methodist Camp?
The Maintenance Department plays a vital role in creating a pleasant and safe experience for our guest groups.
We are looking for a Maintenance Foreman to join our staff. The position will require an individual with a strong,
growing, and deep relationship with Jesus Christ, and the ability and desire to tell others about Jesus.
This is a Full-Time/Exempt, working supervisory position with a competitive salary package, employee benefits,
and on-site housing is required. On-site housing for this position will include a 3 bedroom / 2 bath home with a
fenced in yard and a shared carport. All utilities are included with housing except Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi will need to be set
up and purchased by the applicant. The applicant will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week to include
weekends and some holidays as guest group needs require. The applicant will share in an on-call rotation and will
be required to stay on property during that time.On call rotation will be at least once a month in our retreat season and
weekly during our summer season. The Maintenance Foreman will report to the
Maintenance & Facilities Director and the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and complete repairs on all buildings, residences, vehicles, equipment, grounds, and any associated
utilities on the property to include a class B swimming pool
- Train and lead maintenance staff and volunteers
- Assist with special building and development projects
- Execute preventative maintenance initiatives on all equipment and facilities
- Ensure camp grounds are kept and maintained,Including hiking trails
- Share “On-Call” responsibilities on a shared rotation
- Open and close facilities before and after guest group usage
- Organization, upkeep, and proper cleaning of all camp tools and Maintenance Shop
- Assist with keeping all TCEQ records and requirements
- Assist with program duties to include the facilitation of axe throwing, zip line, archery, low ropes, and climbing wall
- Have the ability to obtain and upkeep valid lifeguard certification and First Aid - CPR/AED Certification
- Other tasks as required by Camp Management
- Assist with special building and development projects
Requirements:
- Ability to safely use power tools, hand tools, some heavy equipment, and many types of vehicles
- Clean driving record with valid TX drivers license or ability to obtain one before hire
- Must be able to pass a local and federal criminal background and national sex offender database check
- Above average hand/eye coordination
- Demonstratable experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, carpentry, and grounds keeping
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks efficiently and focused on guest needs
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to self-start each day
- Strong integrity
- Pleasant attitude and ability to handle guest issues expeditiously
- 6-month probationary period
