Butler Tech is seeking accomplished manufacturing professionals to join our Adult Education team as part-time instructors. In this role, you'll teach adult learners through practical, hands-on instruction in a modern training environment while helping them develop the technical skills employers need today.
Whether your expertise is in Welding, CNC/Machining, or Electro-Mechanical/Mechatronics, you'll play an important role in strengthening the region's manufacturing workforce.
No previous teaching experience is required. We'll provide guidance and support as you transition from the shop floor to the classroom, including assistance with obtaining your Ohio Adult Education teaching permit.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Manufacturing Instructor, you will:
- Deliver engaging shop and laboratory instruction using industry-standard equipment and practices
- Demonstrate manufacturing techniques and explain the principles behind them
- Coach adult learners as they build technical abilities and workplace confidence
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Reinforce safe work habits and quality standards throughout instruction
- Connect classroom learning with real manufacturing applications and employer expectations
We're Looking For Professionals With Experience In One or More of These Areas:
Welding
- SMAW, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, FCAW
- AWS standards and welding safety
- Fabrication and welding best practices
CNC Machining / Precision Manufacturing
- CNC setup and programming
- Milling and turning operations
- Blueprint reading and precision measurement
- CAD/CAM or NIMS experience is beneficial
Electro-Mechanical / Mechatronics
- PLC programming and troubleshooting
- AC/DC motors and industrial controls
- Fluid power and automation systems
- NEC or NCCER credentials are a plus
Minimum Qualifications
- At least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing-related trade or an Associate degree in a related technical discipline
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A desire to coach, mentor, and support adult learners
- Dependable work history and professional conduct
- Basic computer proficiency, including email and common workplace software
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check
