Requirements for the Shipping & Receiving Clerk position includes:
- Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to multi-task
- Strong work ethic, maintain favorable attendance record
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude required; must be able to learn and apply knowledge of parts, components, and equipment
- Capable of inspecting and safely operating all material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
- Proficient computer technology skills, including the ability to use company software to perform warehouse functions
Minimum Requirements
- All BPS positions require U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card)
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Receives, inspects, and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods. Responsible for verifying that all materials are taken to the proper storage locations and stock is organized properly (FIFO)
- Organize and maintain all supplies for each department. Start Purchase Order process by issuing Purchase Order request form
- Maintains database of receiving and shipment data to ensure orders are updated and the appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required
- Prepares customer shipping to include taping, labeling, shrink wrapping, prepares packing invoice and coordinate with FedEx, USPS, and UPS for shipment
- Inventory management using the “First In, First Out” (FIFO) method
- Follow all Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) pertaining to area of responsibility; maintain housekeeping standards
- Follow and adhere to safety guidelines
- Learn and cross-train in other areas and serve as backup as required
- Additional duties may be assigned
Training, Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- One year experience in the operation of warehouse equipment according to established safety regulations
- 1-2 years of strong customer service experience preferred
- Minimum of 4 years’ warehouse experience, shipping & receiving preferred
- Forklift, pallet jack experience preferred
- Knowledgeable of Hazmat regulations preferred
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
