Will assist with the training of lower-level personnel to increase the knowledge base across the department. Additional inspection requirements may be added to assist additional departments.

Primary Responsibilities
- Inspects complex manufactured parts for conformance to print and specification requirements.
- Performs visual, dimensional, mechanical, and optical inspections per instructions.
- Uses basic to complex inspection measurement equipment including CMM, microscopes, optical comparators, and coordinate measurement equipment to set up and verify dimensions and geometric tolerances for compliance.
- Works from engineering drawings, internal and external specifications, quality assurance standards, test procedures, and verbal instructions to determine acceptance of product.
- Participates in continuous improvement teams.
- Assist in supporting customer onsite audits.
- Maintain the highest ethical and quality standards, even when challenged from above.
- Uses computers to document quality records, first article and dimensional reports, and job status, including the scanning and filing of records." for subject-verb agreement..
- May assist with lean initiatives and participate where required.
Qualifications/Experience
- Requires a minimum of five years of mechanical inspection experience.
- Two year technical degree or Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) preferred.
- Certified Green Belt (CSSGB) or Quality Inspector (CQI) a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail and very organized.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications or equivalent.
- Must be able to communicate and understand instructions in English.
- Ability to work effectively and independently with minimal instruction.
- Knowledge of shop mathematics, blue print reading, geometric tolerances, and SPC.
- Demonstrated ability to use basic and advanced inspection measuring equipment.
- Ability to use all types of inspection tools and equipment.
