Duties
- Assist with butchering preparation, including trimming, slicing, and portioning using various knives and meat processing machines
- Operate meat cutting and slicing equipment safely and efficiently to produce consistent product sizes
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
- Package products accurately for retail display or culinary use, ensuring proper labeling and presentation
- Conduct visual inspections for quality control, checking for freshness, appearance, and proper handling of perishable goods
- Support food production tasks such as fish handling, meat cutting, and food preparation to meet daily store needs
- Maintain inventory levels of perishable goods, monitor expiration dates, and assist with stock rotation
Requirements
- Previous experience in food production, food preparation, or retail store environments preferred
- Knowledge of butchery techniques, meat cutting, trimming methods, and slicing techniques
- Experience operating meat processing machines and understanding food safety management practices
- Strong knife skills with the ability to handle various cutting tools safely and accurately
- Familiarity with food handling regulations, sanitizing procedures, and quality control standards in the food industry
- Basic math skills for portioning, weighing ingredients, and inventory management
- Excellent customer service skills to assist team members and interact professionally when needed
- Kitchen or restaurant experience is a plus; familiarity with fish handling is beneficial
