Butcher and Barrel Sacramento is an award-winning farm-to-fork steakhouse located in the heart of downtown Sacramento, one block from Golden 1 Center. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency, precision, and attention to presentation
- Take guest orders, provide knowledgeable recommendations, and deliver a warm, personalized experience
- Conduct weekly bar inventory, accurately counting and recording wine, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic products
- Maintain proper organization of the wine and spirits inventory, ensuring bottles are properly stored, labeled, and rotated
- Ensure all bar prep is completed before service, including garnishes, syrups, juices, and mise en place
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar area throughout each shift
- Verify guest identification to confirm legal drinking age in accordance with California ABC regulations
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Handle cash transactions and operate the POS system accurately
- Upsell food and beverage items in a genuine, guest-focused manner
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required
- Communicate effectively with FOH and BOH team members to ensure smooth service
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience in a full-service restaurant or bar preferred
- Solid knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and classic and contemporary cocktail techniques
- Experience with inventory management and bar organization is a plus
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage a diverse clientele
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills for cash handling and drink pricing
- Experience with POS systems
- Current Food Handler certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
