Assistant Preschool Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Teacher. The Assistant Teacher will work alongside our lead teachers to provide high-quality care and education to children in our daycare center. This is an afternoon position and candidate must be available from 12-6pm.

Responsibilities:

• Support Classroom Activities: Assist lead teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children.
• Supervision and Care: Provide attentive supervision and nurturing care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Assist with feeding, diapering, and other basic care routines as needed.
• Engagement and Interaction: Engage children in age-appropriate play, conversation, and learning experiences. Foster positive relationships and encourage active participation in classroom activities.
• Classroom Management: Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. Help manage behavior effectively and promote positive social interactions among children.
• Communication: Communicate regularly with lead teachers, parents/guardians, and other staff members to share observations, provide updates on children's progress, and address any concerns or questions that may arise.
• Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in early childhood education and child development.
• Cleanliness and closing duties: Teachers are responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for children and will be able to carry out a closing list daily.

Qualifications:

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college coursework in early childhood education, child development, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or similar childcare setting is preferred but not required. We welcome candidates with a passion for working with children and a willingness to learn.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude are key qualities we are looking for in our Part-Time Assistant Teacher.
• Clearances: Must pass background checks and screenings required by state regulations and/or daycare policies.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
