Position Title: Assistant Preschool Teacher
Reports To: Lead Teacher / Director
Location: Busy B's Little Learners
Employment Type: Full-time
Position Summary
The Assistant Preschool Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for young children. This role assists with implementing daily activities, fostering social and emotional development, and ensuring the overall well-being of all children in care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities
- Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and rest time
- Encourage positive behavior and model appropriate interactions
- Assist with daily routines, including diapering, toileting, and handwashing
- Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher regarding student needs and progress
- Prepare classroom materials and learning centers as directed
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and center policies
- Maintain confidentiality of children and families
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience working with young children preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass required background checks

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

- May include exposure to illness, noise, and varying activity levels
