Registered Nurse (RN) – Clinical Educator (Procedural Units)
Location: Washington, DC
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Day Shift | 40 hours/week

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Educator with a strong procedural background to support clinical education and training across multiple procedural units, including Interventional Radiology (IR), Cardiac Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and Wound Care.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with proven educator experience in an acute or teaching hospital setting to play a key role in enhancing staff competency, patient safety, and procedural care excellence.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Clinical Educator for procedural departments (IR, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Wound Center).
- Develop, implement, and evaluate orientation, training, and competency programs for nursing and clinical staff.
- Support ongoing professional development initiatives aligned with hospital standards and evidence-based practice.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives to optimize patient outcomes.
- Assist with clinical oversight, education, and mentoring in procedural best practices and conscious sedation protocols.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current technologies, equipment, and nursing education methodologies.
Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong teaching, leadership, and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of procedural care standards, infection prevention, and hospital education systems.
- Proficient in Cerner EMR documentation system.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: 2 years of experience as a Clinical Educator in a teaching hospital environment.
- Clinical Background: At least 2 years of procedural experience (Endoscopy, Cath Lab, IR, or similar).
- Preferred: 5–7 years of total RN experience in procedural or acute care settings.
- Prior travel nursing experience (minimum one completed assignment) required.
Education Requirements
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Licensure & Certifications
- Required: Active District of Columbia (DC) RN license (must be in hand before start).
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Specialty Certification (e.g., CNOR, CEN, or CCRN).
Work Environment
- Facility Type: Teaching Hospital / Acute Care
- Units Covered: Interventional Radiology (IR), Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Wound Center
- Shift Type: Day 5x8-hour shifts (07:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Patient Ratio: Typically 1:1 or procedure-dependent
- Setting: In-person, hospital-based role
- Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
