Medical Surgical RN – Nights | Battle Creek, MI
13-Week Contract | 36 or 48 Hours Available
We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Battle Creek, Michigan. This opportunity offers flexible 36- or 48-hour schedules and the chance to work with a diverse adult patient population in a collaborative Med-Surg environment.
Assignment Details
- Location: Battle Creek, MI
- Contract Length: 26 Weeks (BI02)
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts
- Weekly Pay: Up to $2,124/week (36 Hours)
- 48-Hour Contracts Available
- Every Other Weekend Required
- Local Candidates Accepted
Required Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN License
- Minimum 1 Year of Recent Medical Surgical Experience
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- Ability to float to other Med-Surg units as needed
- Comfortable working within a team nursing model alongside RNs, LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 Years of Medical Surgical Experience
- Experience with cardiac, pulmonary, orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical patients
- Previous travel nursing experience
Patient Population
Nurses may care for a variety of medical and surgical patients, including:
- Cardiac and pulmonary conditions
- Orthopedic and neurovascular patients
- Gastrointestinal surgical patients
- Urology procedures
- Hysterectomy patients
- Mastectomy patients
- General medical admissions
Unit Highlights
- Night Shift Staffing Ratio: Typically 1:5–6
- Ratios may flex to 1:7–8 with dedicated LPN support
- Collaborative team-based care model
- Floating to other Med-Surg units as needed
- Strong interdisciplinary support
Additional Information
- Must be available during the first two weeks for orientation
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Travelers are first to float
- Flu vaccination documentation required with submission
- Background disclosures must be provided prior to submission
- Modules completed during orientation (non-billable)
