Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer I
Location: Findlay Township, Pennsylvania
Job Description
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer I is responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming materials, in-process production, and outgoing power conversion and storage products. This role includes inspection, testing oversight, documentation, and collaboration with production, engineering, and supplier teams to maintain high standards throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Incoming Quality Control
- Inspect and test incoming raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies to ensure they meet required specifications.
- Develop incoming quality control plans for power conversion and storage products.
- Work with engineering teams to identify critical quality requirements and establish proper acceptance criteria.
- Conduct inspections using visual checks, dimensional measurements, and functional testing.
- Collaborate with supplier quality teams to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspection results and non-conformances.
Process Monitoring & Control
- Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Identify and address deviations during manufacturing operations.
- Ensure in-process activities meet all quality and regulatory requirements.
- Perform routine audits and inspections to verify adherence and identify non-conformances.
- Develop and implement procedures for in-process inspections.
Outgoing Quality Control
- Inspect and witness testing of finished products prior to shipment.
- Conduct final inspections using visual, functional, dimensional, and performance testing methods.
- Work with production teams to resolve quality issues identified during final inspection.
- Maintain documentation of all outgoing inspections and non-conformances.
- Prepare reports and documentation required for regulatory audits.
Must Have
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis and quality tools (e.g., Minitab, SPC).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality management systems.
Nice to Have
- 3–5 years of experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment (power conversion or inverter industry preferred).
