Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week contract-to-hire opportunity in Modesto, California. This position is ideal for a sterile processing professional with strong experience in decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, quality assurance, and infection prevention practices.

Pay Package
- Pay Rate: Up to $32/hour

Assignment Details

- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Shift Time: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and trays
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage prior to sterilization
- Operate washer disinfectors, sterilizers, and related processing equipment
- Follow ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer IFUs, and departmental policies
- Maintain accurate sterilization records, instrument tracking, and inventory documentation
- Identify and document missing, damaged, or non-functional instruments
- Support quality assurance initiatives and infection prevention practices
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with supply management
- Maintain organized, compliant, and efficient work areas
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing and workflow efficiency
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CRCST, CIS, CSPDT, or equivalent Sterile Processing certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Sterile Processing experience
- Strong knowledge of decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and infection control procedures
- Experience with surgical instruments and instrument tray assembly
- Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs)
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Basic computer and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience within Sterile Processing
- Experience with inventory management and instrument tracking systems
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and quality standards
