Travel Histology Laboratory Assistant
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days, Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Setting: Hospital Histology Laboratory
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Laboratory Assistant experience (hospital setting preferred)
- Experience as a Laboratory Assistant is required (Phlebotomists will not be considered)
- Experience with specimen processing, data entry, and laboratory operations
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and specimen handling
- BLS preferred
Responsibilities:
- Case assembly and slide delivery to Surgical Pathology and Pathologists
- Filing and organizing surgical blocks
- Assisting with specimen pickups from Surgical Pathology
- Supporting tissue processor changes
- Changing H&E stainers
- Managing laboratory supplies and inventory logs
- Assisting with additional histology lab duties as needed
Additional Information:
- No weekends
- No call
- No floating
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- COVID vaccine not required
- Flu vaccine required
