Job Responsibilities

As an RN Case Manager – Utilization Review, you will:

• Review admissions for medical necessity and appropriateness of care
• Conduct utilization review (UR) assessments
• Evaluate level-of-care criteria using payer guidelines
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient transitions
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Obtain and manage insurance authorizations
• Ensure compliance with hospital and payer regulations
• Support accurate clinical documentation and EMR/EHR updates
• Participate in audits and regulatory reviews
• Educate and communicate with patients and families regarding care plans

Requirements

• Active California RN License
• BLS Certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
• Previous Case Management and/or Utilization Review experience
• Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
• Experience with discharge planning and care coordination

Preferred Qualifications

• Acute care hospital case management experience
• Knowledge of InterQual and/or Milliman guidelines
• EMR/EHR documentation proficiency
• Strong utilization management background
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
