About the Role: Our client is seeking an Engineering Test Technician to support the Lighting Power Products development team, focusing on devices used in automotive headlights. This role is based onsite in Longmont, CO and will work closely with engineers in an R&D / engineering lab environment to execute a wide range of device and reliability testing.You’ll be a critical part of bringing new products to market by running tests, collecting data, and supporting engineering qualifications that ensure TI products meet performance, safety, and quality requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform engineering test activities on lighting power products, including:Qualification (qual) sample testingCharacterization testingCustomer sample/device testingSupport reliability test runs, including setup, execution, monitoring, and documentation.Compute and document pre- and post-stress differentials using data logs from test runs.Manage device serialization, labeling, and tracking of units under test.Maintain accurate and detailed data logs for all units tested, including test conditions, results, and anomalies.Coordinate qualification submissions, ensuring all required data, documentation, and samples are complete and delivered on time.Safely work with high-voltage systems (50–100 kV) following all lab safety protocols and procedures.Perform soldering and rework as needed to prepare devices and boards for testing.Collaborate with engineers and other team members to:Interpret test plans and requirementsReport issues, failures, and unusual resultsProvide feedback to improve test setups and processesHelp maintain an organized, safe, and compliant engineering lab environment (equipment upkeep, ESD practices, basic troubleshooting of test setups, etc.).Required Skills & QualificationsPrior experience as a Test Technician, Engineering Technician, or similar hands-on technical role in an electronics, semiconductor, or hardware lab environment.Familiarity with electronic test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, load banks, etc.).Comfortable and safety-conscious working with high voltage (50–100 kV), following strict procedures and PPE requirements.Soldering skills (through-hole and/or surface mount) for test setup and rework tasks.Ability to read and follow test procedures, engineering instructions, and basic technical documentation.Strong attention to detail for data logging, documentation, and serialization activities.Basic computer skills for entering and analyzing data (spreadsheets, internal tools, etc.).Strong communication skills and ability to work onsite in a collaborative lab setting on a fixed evening shift.Work Schedule & EnvironmentShift: Monday–Friday, approx. 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM (7–8 hour days).Location: 100% onsite in an engineering lab in Longmont, CO.Hands-on, lab-based role working closely with engineers on automotive lighting power products.Company DescriptionFounded in 1986, Business Control System, LP, is an award-winning IT and engineering staffing firm specializing in the utility, construction and manufacturing industries.
