Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain any district-required certifications |

POSITION SUMMARY |
|
Operate district vehicles to safely transport students to and from school and related activities. Maintain appropriate student management, ensure safe loading and unloading, and support transportation operations. |
|

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
Safely operate district-assigned vehicles to transport students in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and district procedures |
|
Follow assigned routes and schedules provided by transportation services |
|
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any safety or mechanical concerns |
|
Assist students on and off the vehicle and ensure safe loading/unloading procedures |
|
Maintain appropriate student behavior and enforce district expectations while transporting students |
|
Ensure all safety equipment (seat belts, harnesses, etc.) is properly used and secured when applicable |
|
Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation personnel regarding student needs, behavior, and concerns |
|
Report accidents, incidents, or injuries immediately to appropriate personnel |
|
Complete required documentation, reports, and route information as assigned |
|
Attend required trainings, meetings, and in-service sessions |
|
Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and participate in evacuation drills as required |
|
Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance |
|
Maintain appropriate professional appearance. |
|
Adhere to the appropriate code of ethics. |
|
Assist in a bus monitor capacity when assigned, including supporting students with special needs, operating adaptive equipment, and providing additional supervision |
|
Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee. |
