JOB DESCRIPTION
BUS DRIVER
This position is responsible to the Director of Transportation.
The Bus Driver has the responsibility for providing safe and efficient student transportation.
BUS DRIVER - JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Safe operation of a school bus, by obeying all traffic laws, adhering to minimum state standards, and performing pre and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain a disciplined, safe and clean bus environment for students, drivers and other passengers.
- Maintain designated routes by strictly abiding to the laid-out route schedule and transporting only authorized passengers during trips and daily transport.
- Keep up on documentation re student count, mileage and condition of the bus.
- Notify the mechanic and director of any needed repairs, break-downs or due maintenance.
- Participate in state required monthly safety meetings and bi annual emergency bus evacuation drills.
- Maintain all certifications required to drive a school bus in the state of Arizona; i.e. CPR & First Aid, State Bus Driver Certification, CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, DOT med cert, IVP Fingerprint Clearance, Physical Performance Test, annual drug screens.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: (This is a minimum 3-month process if no previous certifications are in place. IVP is required prior to beginning training.)
- Commercial Driver's License, with passenger and school bus endorsements - can be achieved after employment, with our assistance.
- Arizona State Certification as a school bus driver is required; we pay to train applicants through this process; must be accomplished within 6 months of hiring. This includes: State laws and regulations, class-room student management and driver training / testing. Behind the wheel training. Federally required mini classes / testing.
- CPR / First Aid certifications.
Salary : $17 - $19
