Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and mechanical systems across various property types.
- Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters to identify faults within electrical systems and ensure proper system operation.
- Conduct routine HVAC system maintenance to maximize efficiency, prevent breakdowns, and extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical problems involving plumbing, refrigeration, electrical systems, and building automation controls.
- Service HVAC/R equipment by replacing worn parts, adjusting controls, and optimizing system performance for energy efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service by clearly communicating technical issues and solutions to clients while maintaining professionalism on-site.
Experience
- Proven construction experience with mechanical systems installation or repair projects.
- Service technician experience working with HVAC systems, refrigeration units (including ammonia refrigeration), or similar mechanical equipment.
- Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, and building automation systems.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC/R equipment troubleshooting using hand tools and diagnostic instruments such as ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC applications along with general property maintenance skills.
- Familiarity with EPA regulations related to refrigerants (EPA certification required).
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing boiler operation, appliance repair, electrical systems troubleshooting, and field service operations.
