Key ResponsibilitiesMetadata Management & Data Cataloging
- Curate and maintain business glossaries, taxonomies, metadata, and data definitions across enterprise data assets.
- Support enterprise data catalog initiatives, including metadata enrichment, lineage documentation, and asset certification.
- Maintain and improve metadata management processes to increase data discoverability and usability.
- Design and implement governance workflows, including stewardship approvals, certification processes, and data access controls.
- Support data ownership frameworks, stewardship programs, and governance operating models.
- Translate business requirements into governance standards, policies, and workflows.
- Support PII/PHI classification initiatives, lineage validation, and data quality monitoring efforts.
- Partner with stakeholders to improve data quality, consistency, traceability, and compliance.
- Assist with governance controls and remediation activities across critical data assets.
- Collaborate with business SMEs, data product managers, and engineering teams to align business context with technical metadata and lineage documentation.
- Drive adoption of governance platforms through training sessions, roadshows, user enablement programs, and stewardship playbooks.
- Develop governance documentation, standards, and communication materials.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and governance initiatives.
- Support ongoing enhancements to governance processes, tools, and operating models.
- Identify opportunities to improve governance automation, efficiency, and adoption.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of professional experience with 2–3 years focused on Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Management initiatives.
- Experience supporting enterprise data governance programs and metadata management efforts.
- Experience collaborating across business and technology organizations.
- Hands-on experience with Atlan or similar metadata management and data catalog platforms.
- Familiarity with data quality and observability tools such as Anomalo.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyze, validate, and document data lineage.
- Experience implementing governance frameworks, glossary management, stewardship processes, and metadata standards.
- Experience working in Agile environments using Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, data cataloging, and lineage concepts.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into governance policies, standards, and workflows.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with modern data platforms and tools including Databricks, Redshift, dbt, Fivetran, and Streamlit.
- Experience with data protection, master data management (MDM), and data profiling.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation.
- Exposure to AI-enabled governance solutions, metadata enrichment, and AI-assisted cataloging.
- Experience supporting cloud migration, data modernization, or enterprise data transformation initiatives.
Salary : $120,000 - $143,000
