Responsibilities include:
- Working as an Owner’s Representative on a wide portfolio of simultaneous construction projects at the facility. Projects include a wide range of scopes from small to complex with varying schedules.
- Interacting with the client and contractor’s team to execute the construction scope and to communicate regular status updates or construction-related issues such as work procedures, complaints, and impairments to utilities or surrounding spaces.
- Inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, production quality, and other established requirements.
- Where needed, getting direction or clarification from the multi-discipline project design team.
- Actively developing relationships with all levels of the client organization, promoting client satisfaction.
- Demonstrating creativity, foresight, and judgement in anticipating and solving problems.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in construction-related field plus 7 years of related experience or high school diploma plus 11 years of related experience.
- US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Security Clearance is required.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of the construction process from the conclusion of design, through bidding, awarding, construction, commissioning, and close-out. Knowledge of typical processes for change orders, requests for information, submittal reviews, pre-occupancy inspections, and close-out is essential.
- Knowledge of the typical divisions of work between design consultants, the various construction trades, and the owner.
- Must have the mobility and ability to conduct field observations throughout the facility, which may include access via ladders, elevated platforms, or uneven terrain and typically in a construction environment without ideal access.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
