Role Description
I’m seeking a hands-on, strategic Controller / Finance Manager to join our team in-house and take full ownership of our financial operations. This is a key leadership role for someone who wants daily visibility into the business and the opportunity to make a meaningful, measurable impact.
This position blends day-to-day accounting leadership with CFO-level insight, supporting ownership with clear financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic guidance. This is not a remote role — on-site presence is required to maintain strong financial controls and real-time oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations & Oversight
- Manage all day-to-day accounting functions on-site, including AP/AR and general ledger activity
- Oversee physical cash-handling and reconciliation processes from safe to bank to books
Executive Reporting & Strategy
- Prepare monthly executive-level reporting, including EBITDA analysis, cash flow forecasting, and profitability insights
- Clearly communicate financial performance to non-financial stakeholders
Balance Sheet Ownership
- Maintain accurate, clean, and audit-ready Balance Sheets across multiple entities
- Ensure proper tracking and reconciliation of assets, liabilities, and intercompany activity
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead the transition from manual Google Sheets–based processes to a fully automated QuickBooks Online environment
- Implement scalable accounting controls and workflows to support growth
Budgeting & Analysis
- Build and manage annual budgets
- Produce monthly Budget vs. Actual analysis to identify inefficiencies and opportunities
Payroll & Compliance Support
- Oversee payroll data through Square
- Ensure accounting records support tax filings, including Form 1065
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MBA preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, including multi-entity structures and deep cleanups
- Proven experience professionalizing accounting systems and internal controls
- Strong understanding of Balance Sheets, cash flow, and EBITDA analysis
- Ability to explain financial data clearly and confidently to non-financial team members
- Must be able to work on-site/in-house daily
