What are the responsibilities and job description for the PATIENT ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE position at Burnett Medical Center Inc?
Burnett Medical Center is looking for a part-time Patient Access Representative to cover every other Saturday and Sunday 9am-9pm in the Emergency Department and also casual coverage for AM, PM and weekend shifts.
SHIFT: 9am-9pm every other Saturday and Sunday (0.2875 FTE); along with casual coverage for AM, PM and weekend shifts
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet and register patients, collect and verify accurate patient information, obtain required signatures/forms. Work with families, medical staff and other healthcare personnel when needed. Other assigned tasks may include admitting/discharging patients, transferring appropriate paperwork, calling other medical facilities for information or transfer. Patient confidentiality required.
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clerical experience with a background in medical terminology or prior healthcare experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and with accurate attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer proficiency; EPIC EHR experience preferred.
