Position: Lead Trainer
Employment Type: 25-30 hours
Pay: $30/hour (with performance based bonuses)
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Are you an elite fitness leader who wants to own the fitness product, develop a high-performing team, and set the standard for the Burn Boot Camp experience?
The Lead Trainer is responsible for the quality of every camp, development of the Training Team, and overall fitness culture of the gym.
This is more than a training position. We are looking for a leader who takes ownership, develops others, holds a high standard, and is motivated by results.
The Lead Trainer will train a minimum of 12-16 camps per week, lead the development of the Training Team, and ensure every camp delivers the energy, challenge, personal attention, and community that defines Burn Boot Camp.
The Lead Trainer works closely with the General Manager and Franchise Partners to continually improve the fitness product, member experience, team performance, and overall success of the gym.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Lead Trainer owns:
- Leadership and development of the Training Team
- Fitness product quality and consistency
- Member experience on the training floor
- Dynamic, challenging 45-minute camps for all fitness levels
- Trainer hiring, onboarding, development, and scheduling
- Training Team performance and accountability
- Support of membership growth and retention
- Operational execution and facility standards
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train a minimum of 12-16 camps per week
- Set the coaching standard for the entire Training Team
- Hire, onboard, develop, and help schedule Trainers
- Regularly observe Trainers and provide direct, actionable feedback
- Develop Trainers through coaching, camp checklists, shadowing, and ongoing development
- Ensure Burn protocol and programming are executed at a high level
- Deliver a genuine, high-energy member experience every camp
- Provide personalized attention and appropriate challenge for members of all fitness levels
- Build strong relationships with members and understand their individual goals
- Hold Trainers accountable to Burn Boot Camp standards
- Maintain equipment, training floor, and facility standards
- Support the Burn sales process and membership growth
- Partner with the General Manager and Franchise Partners on gym goals and priorities
- Identify opportunities to improve the fitness product and member experience
- Participate in community events, pop-up camps, and gym initiatives as needed
- Help create a positive, competitive, accountable, and high-performing team culture

REQUIREMENTS
- Certified Personal Trainer certification through an approved organization such as NASM, ISSA, ACE, ACSM, or NSCA, OR a four-year Exercise Science degree with applicable experience
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Minimum 2 years of personal training, group fitness coaching, or comparable coaching experience
- Previous experience leading, managing, mentoring, or developing fitness professionals preferred
- Ability to train a minimum of 12-16 camps per week
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays as required by the gym schedule
COMPENSATION
$30/hour
This is a leadership position with responsibility extending beyond camps trained. Lead Trainer hours include training camps as well as designated time for Trainer development, observations, meetings, scheduling, hiring/onboarding, and other Lead Trainer responsibilities.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 – 30.0 per week
