Join us this year in our brand new Leaders-in-Training Coordinator role.The Summer Leaders-in-Training (LIT) Coordinator Position will lead and manage the Recreation Departments LIT program for Grades 8 and above. This role oversees recruitment, selection, placement, supervision, and evaluation of LITs, and supports the development of leadership, accountability, and positive engagement in summer programs.Leaders-In-Training Coordinator Dates of Employment: June - AugustQualifications:Experience working with middle school-age youth.Experience in a supervisory position or previous employment in a youth program.Ability to create a curriculum for the Leaders-In-Training program.Ability to transport themselves to the Burlington Parks and Recreation Programs throughout the day.Must possess great judgement and problem-solving skills.Duties and Responsibilities:Recruit, select, and place LITsSupervise, direct, and evaluate LITsMaintain records, including accident reports, evaluation worksheets, volunteer hours, and LITs schedules.Support the LITs to help the development of leadership, accountability, and positive engagement in summer programs.Answer directly to the Assistant Program Coordinator and Summer Program Administrator.Give program feedback to superiors and implement programmatic changes as requestedOther duties as requested
