Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, and refrigerated trailers in the Tri-State area.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and secure cargo properly, ensuring freight integrity during transit; handle logistics cargo with care.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and incident reports in accordance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling and transportation safety procedures.
- Physical ability to handle manual loading of heavy boxes up to 90 lbs. (hand stack)/unloading tasks; forklift certification is a plus.
