We are located in Brookfield, WI, just on the boarder of Milwaukee, Wauwatosa and Menomonee Falls.
Burleigh Road’s longevity in the community has led to a very loyal clientele even when faced with changes in the normal ebb and flow of progressive medicine and the veterinary field in general.

What are we looking for?
We are seeking to add 1 full time Veterinary Assistants to our team and help with our expanding services, clientele needs.
Our ideal candidate(s) is a motivated and inspired individual, exuding in professionalism, seeking to develop in their career, establish roots with our clientele in our community, and help us take Norwood into the next phase of its growth as a practice. Candidate(s) should have a passion for providing excellent customer service and patient care, be able to work efficiently and independently, know how to prioritize and multi-task and must help to maintain a positive work environment and staff culture.
Job Duties will include
- Restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Assist with anesthesia and other technical duties
- Cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
- Filling prescriptions
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments
- Taking patient histories during appointments
- Drawing up and administering vaccinations as directed.
- Preparing/running laboratory samples
- Keep accurate medical records and logs
- Reassure clients that their pets are being cared for, answer their questions or direct their questions to the appropriate person
- Advise pet owners on basic nutrition and preventative healthcare

Skills
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive personality
- Ability to follow instructions properly
- Comfortable handling sick or aggressive patients
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g. lift up to 40 lbs)
- Drive and self-motivated to learn and ability to rapidly absorb information
- High school diploma; a certificate from a Veterinary Assistant program is a plus

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
