We are currently hiring one (1) experienced Iron / Rigging General Foreman to join our team for a major project in Claude, TX.
Position Summary
The Iron/Rigging General Foreman is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all ironworking and rigging activities on assigned construction projects. This role provides leadership to foremen and crews while ensuring work is performed safely, productively, and in compliance with project specifications, schedules, and company standards. The General Foreman serves as a key liaison between field labor and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all ironworking and rigging crews across the jobsite
- Lead foremen by setting the daily plan and running morning meetings
- Maintain strong communication with foremen, Superintendent, and Project Manager
- Submit daily foreman reports (manpower, progress, equipment, safety)
- Notify Superintendent immediately of job needs or concerns
- Enforce safety policies, OSHA standards, and site-specific plans
- Conduct JSAs, pre-task planning, and toolbox talks
- Stop unsafe work and correct issues immediately
- Ensure proper use and inspection of rigging gear, cranes, and tools
- Monitor productivity, manpower, and schedule performance
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer expectations
- Coordinate material delivery, staging, and workflow
- Track tooling and consumables
- Participate in coordination and planning meetings
- Understand and follow the chain of command
- Lead by example in safety, work ethic, and professionalism
- Promote accountability by communicating and addressing issues quickly
- Trust, but verify all work being performed
Qualifications
- High school diploma (trade/technical training preferred)
- 7 years ironworking/rigging experience with leadership background
- Strong knowledge of crane operations and rigging practices
- Working knowledge of OSHA and safety standards
- Ability to read structural drawings and lift plans
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in industrial or commercial construction
Work Requirements
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
- Work around heavy equipment, noise, and dust
- Stand, walk, bend, and work at heights for extended periods
- Travel to job sites as required
- Provide at least 2 weeks’ notice for scheduled time off
