We are currently hiring one (1) experienced Civil General Foreman to join our team for a major project in Claude, TX.
The Civil Construction General Foreman is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and directing all civil construction activities on assigned projects. This role provides leadership to foremen and field crews while ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and company standards. The General Foreman acts as the primary field leader and liaison between craft labor and project leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate a daily plan for foreman morning meetings to ensure clear direction, priorities, and work sequencing.
- Collect and submit daily foreman reports to the Superintendent.
- Oversee all project activities and work areas to ensure safe, efficient, and quality execution.
- Lead by example and promote a strong safety-first, team-oriented work environment.
- Immediately notify the Superintendent of any jobsite needs, concerns, delays, or issues requiring attention.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all foremen throughout the workday.
- Verify that all assigned work is being completed correctly, safely, and according to project expectations.
- Understand and follow the established chain of command and ensure it is respected by all crews.
- Maintain strong communication between the Superintendent and Project Manager regarding progress, concerns, and project needs.
- Promote accountability across the team by ensuring all mistakes, issues, or concerns are communicated promptly so corrective action can be taken.
- Track, monitor, and maintain tooling, equipment, and consumable materials to support uninterrupted workflow.
- Provide at least two weeks’ notice for all scheduled time off requests.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.
- 7 years of experience in civil construction, with progressive supervisory responsibility.
- Strong working knowledge of earthwork, grading operations, underground utilities, drainage systems, concrete, roadwork, and structural civil work.
- Thorough understanding of construction safety regulations and practices.
- Proven leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience in industrial, commercial, or heavy construction environments.

- Ability to walk uneven terrain and active construction sites.
- Ability to climb in and around equipment and excavations.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work in industrial and construction environments with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy equipment.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, bending and working at heights.
- Travel to job sites as required.
