What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at Burke Mountain Resort?
The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, pots, pans and glasses. This position’s duties include prioritizing loads of different types of crockery and kitchenware, hand-washing dishes, loading the dishwasher and placing dishes to dry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes.
- Maintains clean/dry floors throughout shift.
- Scrapes, rinses and loads dishes and utensils into dish machine.
- Washes and sanitizes all plans, utensils and dishes.
- Cleans, sanitizes and maintains dish machine.
- Unloads dishes and utensils from dish machine and organizes them properly.
- Empties trash containers regularly.
- Maintains a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping and mopping as needed.
- Performs additional cleaning duties as requested.
- Cleans food prep stations and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor, which could directly related, or unrelated to original position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
No prior experience or training needed for this position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiple and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple on and two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

RESORT CONDITIONS
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
