Income Maintenance Caseworker II - Adult Medicaid

Hiring Range: $42,390.00 - $49,816.00 ($20.38 - $23.95 per hour)

Description of Work:
Interviewing applicants/recipients and determining initial and ongoing eligibility for Adult Medicaid Programs according to state and federal regulations.
Recruitment Standards and Special Conditions:
Must possess oral and written communication skills, ability to make sound decisions, close attention to details, and clear understanding of policies and procedures, organizational skills and mathematical skills. The applicant must also possess excellent computer skills.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
IMC II: One year of experience as an IMC I or an equivalent combination of training an experience.
IMC I: Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or a closely related curriculum; OR Graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or Performance of mathematical or legal tasks-with at least one year of such experience being in an income maintenance program; OR Graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, the analysis of data, and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special Requirements:
- In accordance with North Carolina House Bill 612, candidates will be required to undergo an SBI fingerprint criminal background investigation.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
