Administrative Support I
Department: Water/Sewer
Hiring Range: $18.87 - $22.18 per hour

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
This position performs a variety of administrative tasks for Water/Sewer Department. Position requires approximately 40 hours of work per workweek.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To successfully perform this position, an individual must be able to perform the following:
- Performs various administrative duties for Water/Sewer.
- Interacts with and assists the general public via telephone, email, or in person to provide support, information, and assistance with documents, systems, or programs maintained or organized by Water/Sewer.
- Provides assistance in the daily operations of Water/Sewer by performing administrative duties as necessary
- Communicates with the Finance Department
- Communicates and coordinates with vendors providing timely and accurate updates
- Screens various calls from the general public and directs them to the appropriate department
- Maintains the inventory and supplies necessary for Water/Sewer
- Prepares and records documents, forms, or memoranda as necessary or as requested
- Maintains standard operating policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORKING CONDITIONS, AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES:
- Standard vision requirements, with or without corrective lenses
- Occasionally lifts up to fifty (25) pounds
- Occasionally spends time tasting or smelling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and pushing or pulling
- Routinely lifts up to ten (10) pounds
- Routinely spends time engaging in repetitive motions, standing, walking, and reaching with hands or arms
- Frequently spends time sitting, speaking or hearing, and using hands or fingers to handle, feel, type, or text
- Subjected to some mental effort and potential stressful situations during day to day operations
- Occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements (i.e., dust, heat, fumes, cold, or noise)
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Ability to express and exchange ideas through verbal communication
- Ability to convey detailed instructions loudly, accurately, and/or quickly
- Ability to receive detailed instructions or information through verbal communication
- Ability to prepare and analyze written or computer data
- Ability to engage in visual inspections involving small parts
- Ability to observe general surroundings and activities
- Ability to operate and use systems, technologies, motor vehicles, and machines required to perform duties of this position
- Demonstrates analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to apply guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrates verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
