Role Description The Pet Sitter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Burle , VA. In this role, the Pet Sitter provides daily care for clients’ pets, including feeding, fresh water, exercise, playtime, and basic grooming as needed. Responsibilities include monitoring pet health and behavior, administering medications as directed, and following specific care instructions from pet guardians. The Pet Sitter may also perform light house sitting tasks such as bringing in mail, adjusting lights, and maintaining a tidy environment. This role requires maintaining clear communication with clients, documenting visits, and ensuring the safety and security of pets and homes at all times.
Qualifications
- Strong Animal Care and Pet Care skills, including safe handling, basic grooming, and recognizing signs of stress or illness.
- Experience with Pet Sitting, including following detailed care routines and providing attentive companionship.
- Effective Communication skills to interact with clients, understand instructions, and provide visit updates.
- Capability to perform House Sitting tasks such as mail collection, plant care, and basic home security checks.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail in prior work or volunteer experience.
- Comfort working with a variety of animal breeds and sizes; prior experience in pet services or animal shelters is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently, manage a schedule of visits, and travel locally within Fairfax County
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; background checks are required.
