Gain practical experience in civil engineering focusing on water/wastewater projects with our team as a Water/Wastewater Civil Engineer Co-op. In this role, you'll work alongside early career and experienced engineers to gain an understanding of water/wastewater design and consulting. What You’ll Do
- Be a part of the project team and under the supervision of Professional Engineers, performing manhole inspections throughout the City of Akron sewer systems
- Provide knowledge of municipal infrastructure in a real-lie application of civil engineering
- Locate manholes, take photos using a tablet, and perform inspection for infiltration and cracks
- Gain field and office experience
- Current undergraduate student in good academic standing pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program and completion of one year coursework required
- Abilti to lift manhole covers up to 80lbs
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to learn PDF markup/review tools, such as BlueBeam Revu or Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to learn AutoCAD or REVIT design software packages, direct experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate, learn, and grow
- Availability to work full-time for Summer of 2027 Semester
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record; some travel may be required
