Survey Technician

B&N Survey Technician Responsibilities

• Perform field survey work alone or as part of a team under the direction of a Professional Surveyor
• Operate and maintain GPS and digital survey equipment and software
• Prepare field notes and sketches
• Read and interpret road, bridge, and/or utility plans, deeds and survey plats
• Perform deed and records research
• Submit utility locate requests
• Communication with team members and design staff
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of four (4) years of surveying experience collecting topographic survey data for INDOT and utility projects and staking right-of-way and easements
• Experience with MS Outlook, Word and Excel
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Ability to travel within the region as required
• Ability to work overtime as required
