B&N Survey Technician/Surveyor Responsibilities
- Perform office survey work under the direction of a Professional Surveyor on INDOT and utility infrastructure improvement projects
- Perform survey computations for boundaries, subdivisions, easements, and existing topographic base mapping; deed research in various jurisdictions; utility locate requests
- Assist on preparation of plats, legal descriptions, and INDOT right-of-way plans
- Operate CADD and survey software
- Regularly communication with designers, state, and local agencies
- Assist with field survey work as required
- High school diploma required
- Minimum of four (4) years of surveying experience processing survey data and preparing topographic surveys and plats of survey
- Use of Civil3D or Open Roads survey software, experience with MS Word and Excel
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to travel within the region as required
- Self-motivated and adaptable, tech savvy that includes the capability to learn new surveying technologies
