Join our team as a Construction Inspector, Early Career and launch your journey at the foundation of quality infrastructure. In this role, you'll support inspection activities across diverse construction sites while building hands-on expertise under the guidance of experienced engineers and construction managers. What You'll Do
- Monitor work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction
- Monitor contractor operations to ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications
- Provide general inspection on construction labor and subcontracted tasks
- Provide reports on assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and quantity of materials received
- Perform on-site material testing and verification
- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment
- Create and compile close out / final construction records documents for submission
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED, required
- Commitment to obtaining all required INDOT Certified Technician certifications within the first year of employment
- 0 – 2 years of experience in construction, construction inspection, or a related field; internship or vocational experience welcome
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to travel within the region required
- Ability to work in inclement weather, work on a construction site, be exposed to heavy construction equipment, and walking
- Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving
