B&N Civil Engineer Co-op, Traffic Responsibilities
- Work with a team of experienced transportation engineers on various traffic engineering projects such as capacity analyses and safety evaluations
- Develop familiarity and skills with traffic and capacity studies, crash diagrams, safety analysis, data collection, traffic modeling, traffic control (signing and pavement marking) design, signal design, and maintenance of traffic design
- Assist engineers with developing reports that summarize traffic and safety analyses for large interchange projects as well as urban and rural roadways and intersections
- Assist engineers with project scoping and final design, such as developing construction plans, cost estimates, and specifications using design tolls such as MicroStation and AutoCAD
- You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program and have completed at least one year of your undergraduate degree
- You have a strong interest in traffic engineering; previous internships are a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation a plus
- Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
