B&N Bridge Engineer - Entry Level Responsibilities
As part of a team guided by experienced Professional Engineers, grow your skills in bridge design. The position is responsible for projects primarily for the Indiana DOT and LPA’s within Indiana but may also participate in similar projects across the US.
The position will involve applying conventional engineering practice including design of concrete and steel members for a variety of bridge structures and related structural elements.
Skills & Qualifications
Applicant will preferably have passed the Engineer-in-Training, EIT, or working toward the certification.
Knowledge of Indiana DOT Design Manual, Design Memos, procedures and other resources as well as AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications is a plus.

- Designing or checking all elements of bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects.
- Creating or checking plan details, quantities and estimates for these projects..
- Working with staff to produce final construction deliverables for a variety of bridge structures.
- Reviewing of INDOT and Consultant developed submittals through the INDOT Design Review Contract.
Skills & Qualifications
Applicant will preferably have passed the Engineer-in-Training, EIT, or working toward the certification.
- Have strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Be proactive in learning new methods and technologies.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge of Indiana DOT Design Manual, Design Memos, procedures and other resources as well as AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications is a plus.
